Bodies of three minors recovered from well, mother rescued

Angul: In a tragic incident, bodies of three minor brothers were recovered from a well while their mother was rescued by the locals at Gurujanga village under Kishore Nagar police limits in the district on Saturday.

After being rescued, the mother, identified as Sobhagini Behera, is absconding.

Shobhagini jumped into the well near the house along with her three children. The locals swung into action only to recover the bodies of the kids. The deceased were aged between four and nine years.

Neighbours said Sobhagini was mentally upset over family maintenance as her husband is behind bar in connection with a case. It might force her to take the drastic step, police said.

Bodies of the minor boys have been sent to Kishor Nagar hospital for post mortem. A man hunt has been launched to nab the absconding woman, police added.
