Bodies of 2 minor boys recovered from pond, murder suspected

Bhadrak: Tension prevailed after bodies of two minor boys, missing since Wednesday, were recovered from Jagannathprasad village under Basudevpur block in the district on Saturday.

The deceased have been identified as Kulamani Barik and Saroj Padhi. Both the children were missing from Maha Shivaratri day on February 14.

The locals alleged that the children have been murdered while their bodies were disposed of in the pond as blood stains were spotted from the mouth of one of the deceased minors.

Though the family members had lodged a missing complaint, no action was allegedly taken by police to trace them.

A few children were playing near the pond when they spotted the bodies and raised an alarm. Later, villagers informed police about the incident.
