Bhubaneswar: Following the suicide of a Class 10 girl in Dhanakauda of Sambalpur district, Odisha DGP KB Singh on Wednesday issued a letter to top police officials of the State asking them to take steps for removal of Blue Whale game from social media. The girl’s mother had suspected her daughter to have been playing the game.

Singh mentioned in the letter that it is a matter of concern as the game is available on the internet.

A day earlier, the Class 10 girl, Suhani was found hanging in her house. The girl’s parents rushed her to a nearby hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.

However, Sambalpur SP Sanjeev Arora had ruled out the Blue Whale game angle into the death.

Till now as many as 200 youngsters across the world have fallen prey to the Blue Whale challenging game and killed themselves.
