Blanket laden truck seized, two detained

Umerkot: Police today seized a blanket laden truck and detained two persons including the driver for interrogation.

Reports said the some BJP activists detained a truck carrying woollen blankets near Lalapara in Raighar block in Nabarangpur district and informed the police.

Following information, a team of Raighar police rushed to the spot and seized the truck. Police later detained the truck driver and another person for interrogation.

Talking to the media, Raighar IIC Narendra Kumar Majhi said the police are now investigating as to where such huge quantity of blankets was taken and who has sent this consignment.

He also said the police did not get any relevant documents from the driver on transportation of these blankets. “The details would be known after his interrogation,” he added.

The BJP, on the other hand, alleged that the consignment sent by the BJD was on the way for distribution among the people in the remote areas of Raighar block.
