Bhubaneswar: National spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Sambit Patra today lashed out at the Naveen government for its misgovernance in Odisha.

Patra said BJP president Amit Shah stated that even after 17 years of BJD rule in the State, people are deprived of basic amenities.

As per statistics, 14 per cent people in Odisha do not have safe drinking water, 22 per cent lack toilet, 46 per cent live below poverty line and 41 per cent in rural areas do not have access to electricity, said Patra.

"Shah expressed concerns over these problems and said BJP would form the government in the State in 2019 and fulfil all the dreams of Odias," Patra added.

Earlier, Shah had said BJP demolished the myth that defeating regional parties was invincible and the party proved that by winning in Uttar Pradesh and was able to repeat the performance in Odisha too.
