Bhubaneswar: BJP legislature party leader KV Singh Deo today alleged in the State Assembly the Tricolour has been insulted by hoisting the national flag on the left side of a vehicle used by a minister. However, later it was found the vehicle regarding which the BJP LP leader was talking about is being used by Leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra.

During the zero hour, Singh Deo said the Tricolour was hoisted at the left side of the vehicle bearing registration number OD 02AG 6699, which is against the Flag Code of India.

Informing newsmen Singh Deo stated, “As per the Flag Code, the Tricolour should be hoisted either at the centre or right-hand side of the vehicle. Therefore, I tried to drag the attention of the Speaker to direct the State government to look into the matter.”

Meanwhile, the Leader of Opposition, in his response, said, “I would express sadness if the Flag Code has been violated by hoisting the Tricolour on the wrong side of the vehicle provided by the State government.”

Mishra further stated he would present his reply in the House after going through the Law book.
