Bhubaneswar: Protesting violence during the BJD's Hak Pain Hartal against fuel price hike on Monday, the BJP Yuva Morcha staged demonstration at various places across the state today.

The party demanded immediate arrest of protestors involved in vandalism during the protest.

“Activists of the ruling party beat up the public and even misbehaved with women during their protest. Police, influenced by the state government, remained a mute spectator only.  We demand arrest of the persons, including some MLAs and Ministers involved in the violence,” said a party activist.

Activists of the BJP youth wing led by Sundargarh unit president Tankadhar Tripathy demonstrated in front of the SP office in the district.

“Goondaism by BJD activists during the ‘hartal’ is a cheap trick of the Naveen government to create panic among the people of Odisha. It even influenced police to remain silent during the protest. Condemning this, the BJP Yuva Morcha has staged demonstration across in all districts,” said Tripathy.
