BJP worker murder in Jajpur: Prime accused held

Jajpur: The Binjharpur police today arrested Purna Chandra Sahu alias Punia from Chhatia for his alleged involvement in BJP worker Abhimanyu Das’s murder case.

Abhimanyu, who was block president of the BJP’s OBC cell at Binjharpur, was killed in a bomb attack at Naunbanka under Binjharpur police limits late on Sunday night.

Politics had intensified after the murder of Abhimanyu with senior leaders of BJP alleging ‘direct involvement’ of BJD MLA from Binjharpur, Pramila Mallick in the case.

The saffron leaders had also alleged BJD party men had conspired to kill Abhimanyu with help of contract killers.

However, BJD MLA Pramila Mallick had rubbished the allegations and demanded an impartial probe into the death of the BJP worker.
