Bhubaneswar/Jeypore: The Koraput district clerical association’s stir protesting against the 'vindictive approach' of district administration over the row relating to the approval of union minister Dharmendra Pradhan's chopper landing reached the Raj Bhawan today with State BJP leaders seeking Governor's intervention in the matter to resolve the administrative logjam in the tribal dominated district.

The saffron party demanded the suspension of Collector for allegedly acting as an agent of the ruling party. "The Collector has been saying universally that he took such decision at the behest of Third Floor. The entire administrative works came to a standstill due to such an approach of the district Collector. All the clerks of the district are on dharna. We requested the Governor to intervene in the matter", BJP general secretary of Odisha Bhrugu Buxipatra said.

“We also demanded immediate suspension of the Collector, who is acting at the tune of ruling party. If our victory in panchayat polls does not go well with BJD, it should fight us directly. Why is it taking action against the innocent clerks", Buxipatra asked.

On the other hand, the clerical association continues its dharna protesting against the action of Collector.
The Collector had earlier suspended a Junior Clerk-Krushna Chandra Pradhan- in the case of granting permission to Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to land his helicopter at Borigumma in the district on February 13.

The association opposed the decision and staged dharna following which 10 more clerks were put under suspension again. The Association president and secretary were also transferred.

However, the Collector on Tuesday withdrew his orders for suspension of 11 clerks and transferred them to various blocks of the district.
