BJP stages road blockade demanding closure of illegal sand quarries in Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: A road blockade has been staged by BJP at Parjang today demanding closure of illegal sand quarries in Parjang Block of Dhenkanal district. The agitation is being led by former Block Chairman Sushant Dalbehera.

The BJP has alleged that sand quarries at Kamar, Damal, Kulei, Khalpal, Basulei and Jatia in Parjang Tehsil are operating illegally.

Talking to OTV, Sushant said, "BJP is today protesting against the unlawful mining carried out at the illegal sand quarries in Parjang with help of sand mafia."

On the other hand, Parjang Tehsildar said the agitators have submitted a memorandum to the Collector and probe will be initiated into it.
