Sambalpur: The Sambalpur district unit of BJP staged demonstration at Kacheri square today protesting farmer suicides, irregularities in supply of fertilisers & pesticides and lack of irrigation facilities.

Party's national secretary Suresh Pujari and Kuchinda MLA Rabi Naik also targeted the State government for neglecting local youths and not providing them employment in various projects leading to large scale migration.

“The ministers are busy for Bijepur by-poll and hardly attend office in Secretariat. Many people from western Odisha are migrating to other states and are being exploited there," Suresh Pujari said.

"The State government is fully responsible for the agrarian crisis in Odisha. It did not follow the guidelines set by Central government on use of fertilisers and pesticides which led to losses," Rabi Naik said.

“People are very much aware about the developmental work in Sambalpur undertaken in the last three years. What the BJP has done for Sambalpur when it was heading the civic body?” BJD MLA Raseswari Panigrahi said in reply.
