Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is planning to celebrate three years of the Narendra Modi government in a grand way. Party sources said, programmes will be spread over almost a fortnight, when Union ministers and MPs here will reach out to people to propagate how various programmes have helped the people and educate them about the government’s achievements.

On May 26, the prime minister completes three years in office.

Sources added, road shows and public meetings will be organised by the saffron party in all the districts beginning May 26 and will continue till June 15.

“The focus of celebrations will be on how the government schemes have benefitted the people. Through the programme we want to reach out to the aam aadmi and tell them how the government has helped them in the past three years,” said BJP state in-charge Arun Singh.

Singh, who is in the State capital to draw blue print of the programmes, said the aim is to make this year’s celebrations unique and different from last two years.

Party sources said after the national executive last month, this will be second gala event of the party in the State which is going to polls in 2019.

However the ruling BJD said the scheduled programmes will not have any impact on it. Coincidentally, the Naveen Patnaik-led Government also completes third year of the  fourth term of governance on May 21.

“People are well aware of the party’s (BJP) vote bank politics. If the Centre is aware about the State issues, why did it drastically cut funds in Central schemes? The party has to answer this” BJD spokesperson Amar Satpathy said.
