Sohela: Two BJP leaders were murderously attacked by some miscreants outside the Sohela court premises in Bargarh this evening.

The two injured leaders have been identified as BJP State general secretary Ranjan Patel and Yuva Morcha secretary Irashish Acharya.

According to sources, while the duo was drinking tea at a stall in front of the Sohela court some miscreants attacked them with sticks and iron rods. Both were rushed to the Bargarh district headquarters hospital in critical condition, informed sources.

As per reports, both were attacked while they were on their way to meet party leader Jayanarayan Mishra who is lodged at the Sohela jail.

Meanwhile, party legislator Rabi Nayak sat on a dharna near the Speaker’s podium in Odisha Assembly protesting the attack on party leaders.

“The attack on two party leaders in Sohela were carried out at the behest of Labour Minister Sushant Singh,” said Nayak.

He alleged that hooliganism of ruling-BJD leaders has increased in the State.

On the other hand, Sushant Singh refuted the allegations and said "I have no involvement in the incident. It's not an attack. They attacked us first, it's retaliation. Some BJP members have been creating disturbances in Sohela over the past few days. They have been threatening that after one murder, there will be another. They are supplying food and trying to install an AC for Jaynarayan inside jail."
