Bhubaneswar: The State unit of BJP on Wednesday termed the Chief Minister’s review of different departments as ‘perfunctory’.

“His (Chief Minister’s) review is completely vague,” Sajjan Sharma, spokesperson, BJP, said,

Sharma said the chief minister is not clarifying what steps have been taken on the conclusion reached after the review of the departments last year. “The State government is not telling what its future goals are,” he added.

“While the State government is talking about construction of 10 lakh pucca houses in the State, only 3.20 lakh houses have been made pucca so far, something the Chief Minister has himslef confirmed.” he said.

“Though the State government has been saying since 2009 that Odisha will not depend on others states for food, we are still importing food items in large quantities,” he said.

The government is misleading people in the name of Potato Mission and Onion Mission, he alleged.

Questioning the rationale behind such a review by the Chief Minister, Sharma said, “What is the point of this kind of review? We urge him to act as per his words.”

The Chief Minister will review the work of Commerce and Transport, Rural Development and Forest and Environment departments on Thursday.
