Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today announced its 'master plan' for the Bijepur bypoll by appointing three senior leaders as in-charge of three blocks of the assembly constituency.

BJP legislature party leader  KV Singh Deo will be in-charge of Gaisilat block while senior leader Jayanarayan Mishra has been given the responsibility of Bijepur block. Similarly, the party's state president Basant Panda will be in-charge of Barpali block, informed the party's MLA from Padampur, Pradeep Purohit.

Moreover, Ranjan Patel will head the Election Management and Coordination Committee, Purohit said.

On the other hand, a team of the BJP today met the state's chief electoral officer D N Gupta and submitted a memorandum demanding transfer of Bargarh SP and collector alleging that they are working as the party men of the ruling BJD government.

The saffron party also demanded immediate transfer of IICs of Bijepur, Gaisilat and Barpali blocks to ensure a free and fair election. The party alleged that all the three IICs were brought to these police stations following the death of late Bijepur MLA Subal Sahu with evil intention of influencing the election process in the bypoll.

Meanwhile, the state's chief electoral officer today informed that the election management plan along with the security plan for the assembly constituency is in the final stage of preparation and it will be finalised in the next couple of days, Gupta said.

For the 270 booths in Bijepur, the Commission is identifying the sensitive and vulnerable booths keeping in view the past records, he added.
