Bhubaneswar: A three-member central team of BJP will visit Kunduli in Koraput district tomorrow for an on-the-spot investigation into the alleged gang rape and suicide of the minor girl.

The party had earlier formed the team with BJP National General Secretary and former MP Saroj Pandey as its head. The panel will have other members like Jyoti Dhrube, party National General Secretary and MP Anju Bala as other members. The team was constituted following an order from BJP national president Amit Shah. The team will later submit its report to Shah, sources said.

BJP, in a release, had said earlier that Shah was shocked and denounced the attempted cover-up by the Naveen Patnaik government.

The activists of BJP Mahila Morcha yesterday ransacked the office of the State Commission for Women while protesting the alleged gang rape and suicide of the minor girl.

While some activists damaged window panes, other activists hung bangles on the wall as a mark of protest.

They alleged that instead of working for the safety of women, the Commission is safeguarding the interests of the ruling party.
