Bargarh: Percentage Commission (PC) activities have been going on during execution of different projects in Bijepur though Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced a discontinuation of the practice, alleged BJP leader and Padampur legislator Pradip Purohit on Sunday.

Purohit told mediapersons, "A probe should be initiated by the State government into allegations from different quarters that 20-22% PC is being collected by the officials in different projects."

He further stated, "Keeping in view of the ensuing Bijepur by-poll, the Chief Minister has allocated special funds to Barapali, Bijepur and Gaisilat blocks."

Refuting allegations Labour Minister Sushant Singh said, "Charges levelled by the BJP leader are baseless. Let him be specific and provide evidence, the State government will initiate an investigation."

"When the announced projects have not yet begun in Bijepur, how can he can allege of PC activities," Singh questioned.

In July, the Chief Minister had asked government officials to stop PC practices at block level while giving government work contracts.
