Bhubaneswar: BJP spokesperson Pitambar Acharya today accused BJD legislators of Chhendipada and Hindol assembly constituencies of bribing voters.
At a press conference, Acharya alleged that Chhendipada MLA Sushant Behera is trying to poach saffron party activists by promising them money and party ticket.
"Nearly 16 MLAs, MPs and ministers of ruling BJD are in charge for 16 wards of Hindol NAC. Not only excess amount of money is being distributed among voters there but opposition party members are also being offered cash," alleged Acharya.
Acharya also produced an audio tape with call recordings of Behera to back his allegations.
On the other hand, Behera refuted the allegations saying BJP is playing cheap tricks in fear of losing Hindol NAC poll.
"The allegations are baseless. It is just a reflection of disappointment after the BJP realised they will not be able to win a single seat in the Hindol NAC election," said Behera.
