Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MPs today decided to raise Mahanadi tribunal and Polavaram issues during the winter session of Parliament starting tomorrow.

After the Parliamentary Party meeting chaired by BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the Naveen Nivas here, party MP Kalikesh Singhdeo told mediapersons, "The party will lodge a protest against the Centre's apathy. Though as per the law, the Centre is bound to form a tribunal, it is showing undue favours to Chhattisgarh by not constituting a tribunal to resolve the Mahanadi dispute."

"Besides, we will rake up Polavaram issue and delay in work on laying of Khurda-Bolangir railway track. Though the State government has agreed to pay 50 percent of total cost and provided land free of cost, the delay of Railways to complete the work is unacceptable" he added.

Singhdeo further stated, "The Odisha government is not allowed by the Centre to pay bonus to farmers, but the Chhattisgarh government has been allowed to provide bonus to farmers on and above the MSP. We will raise the issue in the Parliament."

The delay in construction of the second Brahmani bridge work and non-revision of royalty of coal for coal bearing States will also be raked up during the winter session.

The winter session of Parliament will be held from December 15 to January 5.
