Bhubaneswar: With the infighting in BJD at many urban local bodies mounting by the day, such a conflict in Vyasanagar Municipality today reached the door of party supremo and chief minister Naveen Patnaik.

After CM’s intervention, the regional party today clarified in a press meet that BJD is united and there is no infighting in Vyasanagar.

Party's district observer Debi Prasad Mishra convened the media conference in presence of Korei MLA Akash Das Nayak, Vyasanagar Municipality chairperson and party Sukinda MLA Priti Ranjan Ghadai to inform that all councillors are united and will not take part in confidence vote to be held tomorrow against the chairperson Sabita Rout.

The problem in the party has been sorted out after CM's intervention. "There is no intra party fighting in Vyasanagar BJD. Those, who were opposing the current chairperson, have agreed to follow party president's order", Akash Das Nayak said.

The Vyasanagar municipality chairperson said the small conflict among us has been cleared. "We have agreed to our party president Naveen Patnaik's order. We vowed to work together for the development of Vyasanagar", she added.

Some of the BJD disgruntled councillors in league with a few Congress members had urged the Jajpur Collector for holding a confidence vote against chairperson last month.
Before Vyasanagar, feud in BJD had also come to fore in Dhenkanal, Anandpur and Keonjhar municipality. The intra party squabble in Gunupur NAC of Rayagada district is also said to be continued. However, Mishra said these issues in the party are being sorted out.

"Differences of opinion are quite obvious in a big party like BJD, which has captured many civic bodies. If there is any small quarrel among the party councillors/members, it is always being addressed", Mishra said.
