Bhubaneswar: The ruling BJD is all set to launch ‘Ama Gaon Ama Vikash’, a new campaign aimed at strengthening the party’s grassroots before the upcoming 2019 general elections.

A preparatory meet was held today in this regard to discuss the party’s agenda before kicking off the campaign which is scheduled to begin from July 1 across all the 30 districts in the State.

District presidents and coordinators from across the State were part of the meet chaired by party’s Vice President Surya Narayan Patro.

“We are starting a new initiative ‘Amo Gaan Amo Vikas’. As per the first phase of the programme, an extended executive meet would be organised in all districts before the end of June. From the first week of July we will also organise executive meets in each block of the State. Through the programme the party aims to reach the people, letting them know the achievements of our government.”

The three month-long campaign is expected to refurbish BJD’s image and restore the confidence among masses which was dented to some extent during the panchayat polls held earlier this year.

BJP has also kicked off its ‘Mo Booth Sabuthu Majboot’ today to strengthen the party at grass root level.
