Bhubaneswar: Chief minister and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik today announced the party’s third list comprising candidates for two LS and 21 Assembly seats for the first phase of upcoming general elections on April 10.
While Jhina Hikaka will be BJD’s Lok Sabha candidate in Koraput, ex-Cong leader Hemendra Singh will contest from the Kandhamal Lok Sabha seat. Newly inducted Hema Gamang will be the candidate for the Laxmipur assembly seat.
The party has re-nominated Sugnani Kumari Deo for Kabisuryanagar in place of Latika Pradhan who was given ticket for that seat earlier.
Minister Rabi Nanda will contest from his old seat Jeypore while Ashok Pangi has been named from Kotpad. The Polsara candidate is Srikant Sahu.
Six sitting MLAs have been dropped. No candidate has yet been named for the Kantaamal seat
