Union Home Minister Amit Shah visits tribal-dominated Manipur district, announces Rs 10 lakh for victims' families
Bhubaneswar: BJD parliamentarians will follow the directive of party supremo and chief minister Naveen Patnaik regarding the selection of vice presidential nominee, said party spokesperson Samir Das today.
Das added, “UPA vice presidential nominee Gopal Krishna Gandhi is a good friend of the chief minister, but Patnaik will take a decision which will be politically correct and the party MPs will follow it.”
After the NDA announced M Venkaiah Naidu as its vice presidential candidate, all eyes are now set on BJD’s stand as the regional party has lent support to the NDA presidential nominee Ramnath Kovind.
Buzz is that BJD either might stay away from voting during the election for vice president post like 2012 or provide support to a candidate nominated by the third front.
