Cuttack: In a scathing attack on the ruling party, Leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra on Friday said investigation is not done properly into allegations of involvement of rapport between BJD leaders and people with criminal antecedents.

Speaking to media persons after launching the membership drive of the Congress party at Town Hall in Cuttack, Mishra stated, “Serious allegations are levelled against Cuttack MLAs. While one was allegedly having links with in the arrested Dhalasamant brothers, other one was involved in the chit fund scam. We believe the probe is not done properly and law is not taking its own course.”

He added, “In Assembly we had moved a motion on nexus between the ruling party leaders and State govt and criminals. Though no discussion was held yet, we hope discussion will be undertaken in coming days.”

Refuting the charges, BJD Spokesperson Shasibhusan Behera said, “The state government’s policy is clear on any kind of alleged links between political leaders irrespective of parties and people involved in criminal activities. Even today the chief minister also praised the work of Odisha police in this direction and showed satisfaction.”

Behera emphatically said, “If the allegation brought by Opposition is found to be true, the government will not spare anyone.”
