Bhubaneswar: With Odisha Assembly witnessing uproarious scenes for last two days over BJD MLA’s unparliamentary remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mahesh Sahoo one of the two legislator of the ruling party who made the comments regretted over the issue today.

Sahoo said he does not want to waste the important time of the house proceedings. “I am sorry if my comments have hurt BJP compatriots. But I am not worried,” he said.

Meanwhile, Congress lawmakers created din over Prime Minister’s insulting remarks over poverty in Odisha demanding his immediate apologies.

Party MLA and Opposition Chief Whip Tara Bahinipati demanded to bring censure motion against the PM. “We want the prime minister to apologise in front of media or in the Parliament itself,”

Furthermore, Bahinipati also cr iticised Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s silence over the issue.  Amid the pandemonium the Speaker has adjourned the house till 3 pm.

Notably, two BJD lawmakers including Sahoo used some unparliamentary remarks against Modi over his poverty remarks on Odisha which he made during an election rally in UP few days back. The statements set off a chain reaction with BJP leaders disrupting house proceedings and demanding apologies from the BJD leaders.
