BJD MLA blames govt officials for a 'deprived' Malkangiri

Malkangiri: BJD legislator Manas Madkami today lashed out at the government officials for being callous towards the woes of people in the district.

Stating that the government employess here are not carrying out their responsibilities properly, the MLA said the district is still deprived of the central schemes which has put Malkangiri at the back seat of development.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is regularly directing the officials to reach out to people and work for them but even after his repeated warnings, dereliction of duty by the officials and the slow processing of work at the administration level are adding to the woes of people, said Madkami.

“If we can't resolve the problems of people, they can't be satisfied with us,” added the legislator.

Meanwhile, senior BJD leader Subash Singh said the party has already initiated an internal inquiry into the matter and examine why the people are yet to get benefits under the several schemes of the government.
