Bhubaneswar: As expected, the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is eyeing to turn the tides ahead of the upcoming Bijepur bypolls by projecting the recent ‘Ideal Chief Minister’ award won by party supremo Naveen Patnaik at MIT World Peace University as a great achievement. The CM was conferred with the award in Pune yesterday.

The regional party has made elaborate arrangements for a grand welcome of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who is scheduled to arrive at Bhubaneswar in the evening.

It is for the second time that Patnaik has been recognized at the national level for his work for the development of the State. Earlier, he was conferred with the Best Administrator award by Outlook magazine on August 19 last year.

Life size hoardings and banners have been put up by the party workers at various places in the city from airport to Naveen Nivas, official residence of the Chief Minister in Bhubaneswar.

Barricades have also been erected on both sides of the road as over 50,000 workers and leaders will greet Patnaik at airport and will be escorted in a grand procession.

It will be a show of strength by the regional party and its leaders will leave no stone unturned to project Patnaik’s clean image during the event today.

The CM Naveen Patnaik was conferred with the Ideal Chief Minister award for his revolutionary ideology, transparent governance and fight against corruption. He received the award from former President of India Pratibha Patil on Sunday.
