Cuttack: The indifference of the BJD towards its own MP Baijayant Panda once again came to the fore with the party's Cuttack district president Pratap Jena making a statement that the Kendrapara MP was absent from the executive meet held in Cuttack today despite being invited.

However, the MP immediately responded to it as 'petty, false and low level politicking'.

The MP stated through a tweet that the statement made by Jena is false, petty and low level politicking by vested interests who are manipultating the party.

After the meeting, Jena had stated that though the MP was invited to the meeting,  he did not come. Soon after, the MP's political secretary Jyoti Prakash Ghosh responded to Jena's statement as baseless and false.

''Baijayant Panda was not invited to the meeting. He was neither informed over telephone nor was he given a letter prior to the meeting. It is a conspiracy of the people sitting in the third floor of the Secretariat. Jena has done so to gain the trust of the bureaucrats,'' said Ghosh.

Earlier, the party had kept silent in the egg attack case on Baijayant in Mahanga of Cuttack district when he had been there to inaugurate a drinking water project. Though there was a large posse of police at the spot, no case was registered for a long time.
