The protest, led by Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare minister Sanjay Dasburma, was marked by rallies taken throughout the town showing placards against the decision.

The ruling party will also stage protest, on Wednesday, in front of Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) office in Sambalpur.

The BJD members took off the protests in Bhubaneswar on Monday through a bike rally shouting slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi government. They staged demonstration against the Centre’s decision in front of Raj Bhawan and later submitted a memorandum to Governor SC Jamir, addressed to the president.

BJD alleged, the Centre has cut 36 per cent of the State’s kerosene quota this year and allotted 62,112 kilo Litre kerosene, which is short of 36,336 kilo litres.

Meanwhile, Congress is also bracing up to protest the kerosene quota reduction across the State.
