Bhubaneswar: Rubbishing talks on BJD infighting, the party supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today said there is no such problem in the party. The CM was speaking to newsmen at Naveen Niwas after returning from Delhi.

“I don’t feel there is any infighting in BJD. Where are any such things in the party?,” he questioned.

Asked whether BJD’s party organisation is getting weaker day by day, Patnaik said, “I don’t think the party is going weaker at all. We have got the mandate for the fourth term and are the largest political party in the State.”

Regarding a newspaper column written by BJD MP Bhartruhari Mahtab today citing rift in the ruling party, the chief minister remarked, “I have not gone through the article as yet. Let me read it, I will see what has to be said thereafter.”

On rumours of BJD-BJP alliance over his meeting with former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Naveen said, “That’s not true. After I heard he is not keeping well, I paid a courtesy call to him.”

Asked about selection of Presidential candidate among all non-BJP parties, Patnaik said, “Neither there is any such plan nor discussion held in Delhi as far as I am concerned.”
