Bhubaneswar: Once again mudslinging has begun between the two political rivals--BJD and BJP over a series of large-scale violence reported in several parts of the State ahead of the Bijepur bypoll.

The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Sunday accused the BJP and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan of attempting to derail the Bijepur bypoll process by creating political unrest in the State.

Be it the shoe attack on CM Naveen Patnaik, or ransacking the lawns of his personal secretary VK Pandian’s residence or attack on Labour Minister Susanta Singh's brother, all were part of a conspiracy strategy by BJP, alleged BJD spokesperson Pratap Deb on Sunday.

"A day after Union Minister critisised and opened his mouth, there were attacks on the CM Naveen Patnaik, bureaucrat's residence and minister's brother in a serial manner,"said Deb.

Deb further stated that the people of Odisha very well have sensed such conspiracy of the BJP.

Reacting sharply on such accusations, BJP general secretary Prithviraj Harichandan stated that it is now BJD's habit to drag and blame the saffron party.

"BJD is behind all the political violence as our party activists and leaders were attacked time and again. The shoe attack was done by BJD to gain people’s  sympathy," alleged Harichandan.
