Bhubaneswar: With losses and dissatisfactory results in some districts during recently concluded Panchayat polls leading to ringing of warning bells in BJD camp ahead of 2019 general elections, the party has started to review its performance.

Going for an altogether different strategy this time rather than party meetings with all leaders, supremo Naveen Patnaik is grilling leaders individually while giving mantras for strategizing the party’s approach to revamp before the upcoming 2019 general elections.

The review of the polls began today with most notably the worst performing districts are being introspected on first hand. Today it was time for Junagarh MLA Captain Dibysankar Mishra.

BJD has not been able to score in seven zones of Mishra's constituency. Even Mishra himself has also captured 40,000 votes lesser as compared to last time. The party has also performed badly in other zones of Kalahandi. Amid such a backdrop, Naveen called upon Mishra today and discussed about his performance.

“Party Chief has suggested me to and help reach benefits of government to all people at the grass root level. He has also stressed on strengthening the organisation of the BJD at the base level  so that party can win back the confidence of the people once again,” Mishra said.

“The party in view of the upcoming general elections will ready itself with new strategies after review of results of all 314 blocks, zilla parishad zones and constituencies. A new blueprint for improvising the base of the party by strengthening women, youth and student will be undertaken,” party spokesperson Pratap Deb said.
