Puri: Busting a bike theft racket, the Kumbharpada police of Puri district arrested four persons and seized 20 motorcycles from their possessions here today.

Of the four, two were arrested for purchasing the stolen bikes.

Police said two members of the gang hailing from Brahmagiri area had been involved in various crimes and sent to jail several times. After beging released from jail, the two accused used to steal bikes and sell those illegally in Brahmagiri area.

“We have arrested four persons and seized 20 bikes in this connection. The arrested are identified as Pradyumna Behera, Amiya Kumar Pradhan, Debendra Behera and Kartika Kumar Bhoi,” said Puri Additional SP Jagannath Pradhan.
