Kendrapara: Three members of an inter-state bike lifting racket were nabbed and six bikes were recovered by Pattamundai police here in the district on Tuesday.

According to sources, a seven-member team led by Pattamundai IIC, Promod Kumar Mallick conducted checking simultaneously at  several check points,  recovering four bikes from Gandakia area and two from Malibasa area.

The three accused have been identified as Pratap Das of Gunupur village, Satyabrata Das of Gandakia village and Biranchi Ray of Aradapalli village.

"In Malibasa area and Gandakia road we set up check points for inspection of cell phones and bikes. Two accused were arrested during inspection and a TVS Apache bike was recovered from them. All the accused have been court forwarded," said Umasankhar Moharana, SDPO, Pattamundai.

Soon other members of the gang will be nabbed and the racket will be busted, assured police officials.

Meanwhile, the recovered bikes are from Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Paradip area, informed police.
