Bhubaneswar tense after two groups clash

Bhubaneswar: Tension prevailed in the capital city after a group clash ensued between the residents of Sisupalgarh and Nuagaon Saturday evening allegedly over extortion and passing lewd comments on women of Nuagaon area.

As per sources, some youths from Sisupalgarh allegedly indulged in brawl and ransacked shops in Nuagaon. Later, they passed lewd comments on women in the area.

Following this, the youths of Nuagaon went on a rampage and a clash ensued between them and the Sisupalgarh youths.

Irate over the incident, people burnt tyres and staged a road blockade following which police forces were deployed in the area to take control of the situation.

“We are investigating into the incident. The situation is under control now,” said a police official.
