Bhubaneswar: An agreement will be inked soon between the State government and the Railways Ministry to give the Bhubaneswar railway station a smart look. The decision was taken during a meeting under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary AP Padhi at the State Secretariat today.

As per the decision, the railway station will get a heritage building look for which a new design will be finalised by February next year.

Besides, the budget amount will be increased beyond Rs 60 crore that was earlier planned for the upgradation of the Bhubaneswar railway station.

The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) has been given charge to supervise the smart station development work.
