Bhubaneswar: Brown sugar seized; peddler arrested

Bhubaneswar: In its continuing crack down on drug peddlers, Commisionerate police has seized 250 grams of brown sugar worth Rs10 lakh in the city.

A wholesaler identified as Banamali Jena has been arrested by the quick action team of Commissionerate Police from Mancheswar area here.

Banamali has 13 police cases pending against him out of which six are related to brown sugar peddling while the seven others are in connection with Marijuana trading.

It is learnt that Banamali sources the brown sugar from Balasore and sells it to various peddlers in the city.

Till now, the Commissionarate Police has arrested 18 persons in connection with brown sugar peddling in Bhubaneswar.
