Bhubaneswar: In view of the Bhadrak violence, peace processions were held across Odisha to restore peace in the region.

In Cuttack, a candle light march for the cause of bringing back peace in Bhadrak, was organised under the leadership of actor-turned-MP Anubhav Mohanty on Sunday. The procession started from Cuttack Samaj office and culminated at Gouri Shankar Park. Cuttack-Barabati MLA Debasis Samantray along with various intellectuals also took part in the march.

Talking to mediapersons, Mohanty said, "We are not Hindu, Muslim, Sikh or Christian but we are brothers, humanity is our caste and religion."

Samantray added, "From this town we want to send a message to all places in Odisha to restore peace in Bhadrak soon. We request that no one should play politics on Bhadrak situation."

Similar processions were held in Chandabali of Bhadrak district where youths, women and intellectuals from various communities gathered near Chandabali Mosque and started a candle march shouting slogans of Mother India. In Bhubaneswar, students of Utkal University held a procession to restore peace in Bhadrak. The students started their rally from the office of the Vice-Chancellor to the gate of the University by holding placards with messages of restoring peace and brotherhood.
