Bhadrak: After a considerable improvement in the overall situation of the curfew clamped Bhadrak, State Crime Branch has begun probe into the ‘abusive’ posts made on Hindu deities on Social Media that had erupted the unrest on Thursday.

The investigative agency has been directed to file cases and take immediate action against all those involved in the insulting posts on social media.

Meanwhile, the administration has extended the curfew clamped in the town till 8 am today as a precautionary measure.

A total of 36 platoons of police force have been deployed in the town to ensure no untoward disturbance. The police had also conducted flag march in the town on Saturday.

"Centre will provide all possible help to restore peace in Bhadrak. While two companies of central forces have already reached Bhadrak, two are at the Capital city," petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan informed through a tweet.

Earlier, Director General of Police K.B. Singh had reviewed the situation here on Saturday and told newsmen that the overall situation in the town was under control. Singh also requested not to react to messages or rumours on social media.
