Bhubaneswar: As per the directions of the Odisha Government, Bhadrak district administration will today submit its preliminary assessment report on damages caused during the unrest witnessed in the town following posting of some objectionable posts of the social media.

The chief minister had earlier asked the Bhadrak administration on Wednesday last to submit a report within three days so that compensation could be disbursed among those affected in the unrest and violence. Besides, the local administration has also been asked to take strict action as per law against the persons involved for disrupting the peace.

Meanwhile, the night curfew was relaxed for 12 hours till 6 pm today to allow people to buy essential commodities and complete other necessary works. Official sources said, 34 platoons of police, two companies of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and two companies of Rapid Action Force (RAF) are still deployed to maintain law and order in the town.

Newly appointed Bhadrak SP Anup Kumar Sahoo on the other hand has also assumed office yesterday.
