Kakatpur: An unidentified youth allegedly smeared Kakatpur BDO Santosh Sahoo with cow dung at his office in Puri district on Tuesday.

The incident took place when the officer was holding discussions on issues pertaining to Indira Awas Yojana with some women of local Jaleswarpada and Kadiua gram panchayats on his office premises.

The youth is believed to be a resident of Jaleswarpada. The BDO lodged an FIR following which police have started investigation after registering a case in this regard.

"I don't know why he hurled cow dung at me? I have lodged a complaint with police and the investigating officials can find out the cause," BDO Santosh Kumar Sahoo said.
