Bhubaneswar: BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today revoked suspension on Banki legislator Pravat Tripathy.

After Tripathy was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in October 2014 for his alleged links with chit fund firm Artha Tatwa Group chief Pradeep Sethi, CM Patnaik had suspended the MLA from the party.

Tripathy spent a few months in jail and was later released on bail by the Orissa High Court on March 3, 2015.

The Supreme Court on November 6 upheld bail order of the HC while rejecting a petition filed by the CBI challenging the bail granted to Tripathy.

AT Group has allegedly defrauded investors of more than Rs 500 crore in the state. The CBI took over the investigation in May 2014 and arrested many influential people, including Pravat Tripathy and former Advocate General Ashok Mohanty.
