Bhubaneswar: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today registered a case against three persons, including Odia IPS officer Pranab Mohanty in connection with the suicide of Bangalore DSP MK Ganapathy that took place last year.

It is alleged that the Odia IPS officer had reportedly provoked DSP Ganapathy to take the extreme step. Besides, the complaint has also been filed against Bengaluru Development and Town Planning Minister KJ George and Intelligence wing chief M Prasad.

It may be mentioned here that Ganapathy had committed suicide in a Madikeri lodge on July 7, 2016.   The Supreme Court had ordered the CBI to investigate Ganapathy's death in September last year.
