Bandh hits normal life in Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: Normal life has been paralysed following a 12-hour dawn-to-dusk bandh being observed in Khamakhyanagar in the district over several demands on Saturday.

Khamakshyanagar Notified Area Council has given the bandh call demanding immediate measures for the repairs of NH 53 and construction of roadside drainage channels from Alatoma to Jiridamali in the region.

The agitators staged road blocked by burning tyres and as a result vehicular traffic between Jajpur-Talcher route has been affected.

All the markets and other business houses remained closed as several other organisations, including trade unions have extended their support to the bandh.
