Bandh disrupts normal life in Athagarh

Athagarh: Normal life in Athagarh came to a standstill on Saturday as various organaisations and political parties called for a dawn-to-dusk bandh in protest of attack on a journalist by BJD workers and deteriorating law and order situation in the town.

Members of various social organisations and workers of Congress and BJP blocked roads at many places bringing vehicular movement to a grinding halt in the town. The agitating members were also seen picketing in many places by burning tyres on the road.

However, emergency services and educational institutions were spared from the purview of the shutdown.
