Paradip: BJD MP from Kendrapara Baijayant Panda today reviewed the progress of the 82-km-long Paradip-Haridaspur railway project with the project director.
Meanwhile, the bridge over Mahanadi, which is a part of the project, was completed recently while the bridge over Luna river is all set be completed by September.
While the budget allocated for the project is Rs 1559 crore, Rs 578.5 has been spent till January 31, 2016. Compensation for 1456.5 acres of land acquired for the project has been paid. The environmental clearance for the project was obtained in October last after Panda met the Union Environment minister.
According to Panda, the completion of project will open avenues of industrial development in Kendrapara district.
