B.Tech student among 3 held for IPL betting in Berhampur

Berhampur: At least three youths, including a B. Tech student, were arrested in Berhampur on Thursday on charges of betting during the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket match between the Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Acting on a tip-off, Bada Bazar police conducted a raid last night at a house near Aska Road First Gate and arrested the youths.

Police have also seized Rs 7.61 lakh and mobile phones from their possession, sources said.

Bada Bazar IIC Suresh Tripathi informed that the trio will be court forwarded today in the afternoon.

"The arrest was made during the IPL match between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad. The arrested will be forwarded to court this afternoon,” added Tripathi.
