Bhubaneswar: Intake for the B.Tech course at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhubaneswar, has been increased to 350 this year from 260 in 2016, informed the institute’s director RV Rajkumar on Wednesday.

Initially, the number of seats for B.Tech course at the institute was 180 in 2015.

The director added intake for the Ph.D is also increased to 154.

Besides, the IIT-Bhubaneswar is scheduled to offer dual degree programme in B.Tech Mechanical Engineering and M.Tech in Manufacturing. Two-year courses in M.Tech Environmental Engineering and M.Tech Water Resources Engineering are also going to be offered by the institute in coming days, the director added.

Networking, cyber security and forensic courses will also be provided by the central institute keeping in view of the rising number of cyber crime cases.

The Union HRD Ministry has already granted Rs 800 crore to IIT-Bhubaneswar for infrastructure development at its permanent campus at Argul on outskirts of Bhubaneswar.
