Talsari Marine police have registered the case suo motu, under section 307 (attempt to murder) read with Section 120B (criminal conspiracy) of IPC based on the complaint of police ASI Madhusudan Dutt.

On the other hand the woman who was detained yesterday for hurling the eggs on the dais of the Chief Minister was admitted to Balasore District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) today. She is being treated at the surgery ward and her condition is stated to be critical.

The woman was thrashed and misbehaved with allegedly by BJD workers in presence of party president and CM Naveen Patnaik yesterday.

A team of BJP leaders and activists led by senior party leader Pratap Sarangi met the woman at the Balasore DHH today and inquired about her health. Sarangi expressed grief over the manner the woman was dealt with and alleged BJD had hired goons to thrash her.

"There is no place for violence in democracy, we don’t support egg hurling. She had gone to protest and crossed the boundary after being overpowered by her emotions. But the way she was thrashed by hired goons, dragged and stripped, is gross, heinous and condemnable," said Sarangi.
