Attack on Baijayant: Case registered with Mahanga police

Salipur: Mahanga police today registered a case in connection with the attack on MP Baijayant Panda following a complaint lodged by a social activist of Jayarampur here in Cuttack district.

Complainant Subhendra Nayak, who is also a former sarpanch, demanded thorough inquiry and strict action against all accused. He has, however, not named anybody in the FIR.

Sub-inspector JK Das has been entrusted with the task of investigation after the case was registered under sections 147,148,294,323,337,355,506,149 of IPC.

The Kendrapara MP, Baijayant Panda, was attacked with stones and eggs recently while he had visited Jatiparilo village in Mahanga to inaugurate an overhead water tank project.
